Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Demi, a loving, “scrunchy” and nurturing-by nature momma to 3, who has embarked on a fulfilling journey to become a doula. My path to this calling has been shaped by my own experiences as a mother, which have ignited a passion within me to support others during one of the most transformative times in their lives.

Originally, I am from the suburbs of Chicago, where I spent many years as a nanny to some pretty amazing families! In 2023, my husband Ryan, our son, and I moved to the Peoria area. This is where we added two more babies to our family! If I am not supporting a momma, you can find me gardening, trying new recipes (specifically with my new love/hate relationship for sourdough bread) or spending time with my family, our dog Willow, and our six chickens! We enjoy being outside in the summer months as much as possible. I am a big sister to 6, so I am nothing shy of a “mother hen” as my mom called me growing up. It is no surprise that my path in life has lead me to a calling of caring for others.

In my previous employment, I often found myself searching for deeper meaning and fulfillment. It wasn’t until I became a mother that I truly understood the importance of support during pregnancy and childbirth. My first two birthing experiences left me feeling uncertain and alone, and it was through the guidance of an incredible doula for the birth of my third baby, that I discovered the power of compassionate support.

Witnessing the profound impact that a doula can have—not just on the birthing person but also on their birth partner (which truly is what I needed…I needed someone to show my husband HOW to support me. He could do it, he just didn’t know how)—motivated me to pursue this path. I realized how essential it is for families to have someone by their side who can provide reassurance, knowledge, and emotional support, before, during, and after birth. It was mid-labor ( actually mid contraction), that my husband said " you would be a really awesome doula". Although I didn't agree with him in that very moment ( as you can imagine, I was in no space to be discussing career changes) , I eventually began my training with DONA, and have been in love with my incredible role as a Doula ever since. As your doula, I aim to create a nurturing space where families can feel empowered and informed as they navigate their unique birth experiences.

I believe that every birth is a personal journey, and my mission is to honor and support your individual wishes and needs. Whether it’s offering a comforting hand, sharing evidence-based information, or simply being a calming presence, I am dedicated to ensuring that every family feels heard and respected.

As your doula, I am here to help you build a strong support system that includes not only the birthing person but also their partner and loved ones. Together, we can create a positive and memorable experience that celebrates the strength of your family.
